High-purity blocking reagent for immunodetection workflows
Fish Gelatin Powder is purified from cold-water fish skin and formulated for use as a blocking agent in immuno-assays. When added to blocking buffers or antibody dilution buffers, it effectively reduces non-specific binding, improving signal-to-noise ratios in protein detection workflows.
Unlike traditional blockers such as BSA or non-fat milk, fish gelatin contains no IgG or serum proteins, preventing unwanted cross-reactivity with mammalian antibodies. This makes it particularly suitable for sensitive applications where background staining must be tightly controlled.
Fish gelatin can be used to block positively charged nylon or PVDF membranes in Western blotting, or as a blocking and antibody dilution reagent during immunostaining procedures including IF and IHC.
The product is supplied as a solid powder, offering long shelf life and convenient room-temperature storage.
