The AccuBlue® Broad Range RNA Quantitation Kit by Biotium provides the most comprehensive solution for RNA quantitation, combining accuracy, sensitivity, and RNA specificity in a single assay.
With a linear range from 5 ng to 1000 ng RNA, this kit spans both the Qubit® RNA High Sensitivity (HS) and Broad Range (BR) ranges, eliminating the need for multiple kits. Unlike absorbance-based A260 readings or less selective fluorescent assays, AccuBlue® ensures precise results even in the presence of dsDNA contaminants.
The included mammalian RNA standard provides added confidence when quantifying RNA from mammalian sources, making this kit ideal for NGS library prep, RT-PCR, and transcriptomics workflows.

Assay Range
The AccuBlue® Broad Range RNA Quantitation Kit delivers a linear detection range of 5–1000 ng RNA per 200 µL assay well, spanning both the Qubit® RNA High Sensitivity (HS) and Broad Range (BR) ranges in a single assay. This broad dynamic range makes it highly versatile and ideal for accurately quantifying RNA in workflows requiring high precision, such as Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) library preparation and reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR).
RNA Specificity
Unlike absorbance-based methods (A260) or less selective fluorescent dyes, the RNA Broad Range Dye is highly specific for single-stranded RNA (ssRNA). The assay tolerates the presence of an equimolar amount of double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) without significantly affecting RNA quantitation, reducing errors from contaminating DNA. It is also capable of accurately quantifying short ssRNA species such as miRNA, while producing minimal signal with double-stranded RNA, ensuring reliable and RNA-focused measurements.

Instrument Compatibility
The AccuBlue® Broad Range RNA Quantitation assay is designed for use with fluorescence microplate readers equipped with far-red excitation and emission filters, as well as the Qubit® fluorometer using its pre-programmed RNA Broad Range protocol. For advanced detection, some highly sensitive microplate readers can extend the lower limit of detection to 1 ng RNA (or sample concentrations as low as 0.1 ng/µL), enabling exceptional sensitivity for demanding applications.
