The Most Sensitive RNA Gel Stain in a Convenient Precoated Agarose Format

RNA analysis demands maximum sensitivity to detect low-abundance transcripts while ensuring RNA integrity. The EMBER™ Ultra RNA Gel Kit delivers the highest sensitivity available for RNA gel electrophoresis in a fast, simple, and convenient format.

Using EMBER™ Ultra Precoated Agarose and a specially formulated RNA Loading Dye, this kit allows direct denaturing, loading, and imaging without the need for post-electrophoresis staining. Bands can be visualised immediately, saving time while producing sharper and more sensitive results compared to conventional RNA stains.

With the ability to detect as little as ≤5 ng RNA, EMBER™ Ultra outperforms ethidium bromide (EtBr) and other fluorescent dyes. It also detects DNA contamination in RNA samples, making it an excellent quality control tool for RNA integrity assessment.

Five-fold dilutions of ssRNA Ladder from NEB (200 ng to 12.5 ng per lane) were separated on a 1% agarose/1X TBE gel using the EMBER™ Ultra RNA Gel Kit. The gel was imaged on Biotium's Gel-Bright™ Laser Diode Gel Illuminator, the Safe Imager™ 2.0 Blue-Light Transilluminator (Thermo Fisher), or a UV transilluminator with SYBR® Filter. They EMBER™ Ultra gel system is optimized for Gel-Bright™ Laser Diode and blue light illuminators, but also can be used with UV illuminators with lower sensitivity.

The ExoBrite™ EV Total RNA Isolation Kit was used to extract RNA from 6 x 10^10 EVs (derived from Jurkat cells, isolated by SEC) and a total yield of 100 ng RNA was obtained. 10 ng of the EV RNA was analyzed by gel electrophoresis using the EMBER™ Ultra RNA Gel Kit with a 1.5% gel. The gel was imaged using the Gel-Bright™ Laser Diode Gel Imager. L = Low Range ssRNA Ladder (NEB).
