On 2 July 2025, Atlantis Bioscience proudly hosted Singapore’s first Izon Exoid Workshop & Live Demonstration, in collaboration with NUS Medicine’s ncRNA Core at the NUS Biochemistry Department. This landmark event brought together scientists, clinicians, and translational researchers to experience firsthand the cutting-edge capabilities of the Exoid, a next-generation Tunable Resistive Pulse Sensing (TRPS) platform for nanoparticle characterization.

The day commenced with a morning seminar led by Dr Haoyu Xiong of Izon Science, who travelled from New Zealand to share the latest advancements in extracellular vesicle (EV) and nanoparticle research. Dr Xiong provided an in-depth exploration of TRPS technology, highlighting how Exoid’s single-particle precision offers significant advantages over traditional techniques such as Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS).

During the seminar, Dr Haoyu Xiong introduced the Exoid—Izon’s latest instrument built on TRPS—which offers researchers precise, single-particle measurements of size, concentration, and zeta potential for nanoparticles in solution. Unlike traditional ensemble techniques such as NTA and DLS, TRPS provides high-resolution, one-by-one particle analysis, allowing for a more accurate and confident understanding of particle heterogeneity. Dr Xiong highlighted how the Exoid’s tunable nanopore technology eliminates biases from large particles and enables simultaneous measurement of particle size and zeta potential—key for researchers working with complex EV and exosome samples. With an intuitive interface, automated data processing, and a robust platform backed by low-cost consumables, a two-year warranty, and comprehensive user training, the Exoid stands out as a transformative tool for scientists seeking reliable, real-world data for translational research.

Following the seminar, attendees engaged in hands-on sessions where they analysed their own EV, exosome, and bionanoparticle samples on the Exoid. Participants were impressed by the Exoid’s ability to deliver high-resolution measurements of size, concentration, and zeta potential — empowering them to better understand the heterogeneity and functional properties of their samples.

Networking sessions over lunch provided an invaluable platform for scientists across academia, biotech, and healthcare to exchange ideas, discuss applications, and explore collaborations in the rapidly evolving field of EV research.

Atlantis Bioscience is grateful to nCoreRNA for providing the venue at NUS Medicine’s ncRNA Core, which enabled a productive and collaborative environment for the event. The enthusiastic participation and overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees reaffirmed the importance of hands-on, in-person workshops in accelerating scientific discovery and innovation.

As a lifetime partner to our customers, Atlantis Bioscience remains committed to delivering bench-to-bedside solutions by empowering the scientific community with the right tools and knowledge. We thank everyone who joined us for making Singapore’s first Izon Exoid Workshop & Demo a resounding success, and for sharing in our mission to drive innovation in EV and nanoparticle research. Together, we look forward to accelerating scientific discovery and translating it into real-world impact for patients and society.
